Boxem designed a Dragon of 50 by 4 meter round the renovation of Academiehuis – Grote kerk. For the realisation he got help of Cibap students.
Academiehuis is the new name and used to be the Saint Micheals church. Saint Michaels Dragon is often depicted in the church, but never had this size.
The green Dragon was covered in golden tattoos of paintings, sculptures and ornaments inside the church that were being renovated at the time. The body ‘spells’ the letters M – U – S – E – U – M, linking to the city district ‘Museumkwartier’.
Participating students: Anne Will Barneveld, Esmée van Sinderen, Lizzy Groenewoud, Melissa van der Werf, Romée Bouwmeester, en Roos Warnders.
Photography: Cibap, Kevin Visser, Guozhong Li en Gerard van der Sluijs
